Many of us know the Parable of the prodigal son – which is actually the parable of the loving Father. In this parable the Father runs to his fallen Son and embraces him. We have a heavenly father who is intimate. He is not an impersonal force like gravity, exerting influence in some mechanical, automatic way. He loves us deeply.
